Review: shea moisture Co wash and detangler

So as much as I hate shea moiture, I keep trying their products...I have finally came across a win! I found these 2 products at walgreens for about $10 each (but if you have the walgreens card you can get them on sale for buy one get one half off)...I have yet to try the Co wash on my daughter cuz she will probably use it all in one wash. I haven't tried the detangler on her yet either, but I'm hoping to next time I wash her hair....so this review will be based on how it worked for my son's hair. First the Co wash smells amazing! It also has tons of slip which helps with his tangles and his tender head. I rubbed it thru his hair, let it sit about 5 mins or so while he plays and then detangled and rinsed. His hair was super soft once rinsed out. His hair is always soft since his curls are very silky, but it was even more soft using this. After his bath I put the detangler in, which also smells amazing! I have to note that I did try it on his hair dry the first time and it was so thick and sticky and did zero detangling, it was just a mess. So I then washed his hair and did as the bottle says and applied after washing. Much better! His curls were poppin all day and the next! Usually once he sleeps on his head his curls are a hot mess, but not with this detangler in. I love these for him and highly recommend them (especially if you or your little one have type 3 hair, my best guess is 3b for him)...I hope the detangler works as great on my daughter as it does my son! It would be nice to have the same products instead of 20 different things for each kid lol...*excuse the empty bottoms, I keep them upside down so it's easier to come out*

Banded 2016

The last time I posted about banding was 2.5 years ago and when her hair was banded it was only to her ears!...I wasn't sure what to do to her hair tonight so I'm starting with this. I also finally caved on buying As I am double butter cream. I found it in a 8oz jar for about $12 if I recall correctly (didn't wanna buy the big jar for double the price quite yet). So a review on that should be coming soon as well!

New braids!

Wanted to try something new but not too time consuming...LOVE this on my daughter! Although next time I'm going to detangle, moisturize and stretch over night. I did it on freshly washed hair and doing the big braids her hair kept tangling and to do these kinds of braids my hands only work on top and it's hard to do once I get to the middle/back of her head. Her hair is super thick so it made it harder for me to keep close to her head, my hands working right lol and keep the hair I didn't need out the way. But she loves it and I learned what I needed for next time!

Review: carols daughter, black vanilla

I bought a trial size leave in conditioner spray and love it! I will have to buy the full size next. The scent is like a warm vanilla smell and it's great! It seems to moisturize her hair well too. The hair smoothie I used last night as a deep conditioner after taking her 3 week old box braids out. This is that stuff! Had good slip and wasn't too thick, a little seemed to go a long way (which is good since it was quite expensive for the size). The smell is also a warm vanilla scent too. I see both these being future purchases! I'm not a huge fan of carols daughter products, but this collection is doing well for us! I plan to purchase the other products from the black vanilla line next...☆☆☆☆ for the 2 of these, the 5th star was based on price so I couldn't give it that

Review: as I am, so much moisture

I read amazing reviews and thought it would be great for my daughter! I don't have a picture due to I hated the bottle and transferred it into a spray bottle instead. It is not a cream at all, it's liquid and was very hard for me to apply to her hair. It had no slip at all and didn't seen to moisturize at all...i am saving it for the summer months tho since I think the lack of moisture retention is due to the ingredients that are supposed to draw in moisture (can't remember what it's called). I think this product is doing the opposite in these dry winter months and taking the moisture from her hair and putting it into the air...I'll have an update in a few more months!...I won't say I dislike this product yet, and the smell is good, so I hope I like it in the summer

Review: True products

I recently discover a new natural product line and read reviews abiut it. Seemed great so I figured I'd try a few. The products are all around $10 if I remember correctly...the butter isn't really that thick at all, it easily fell off my fingers when I scooped some up. It also doesn't have much slip either. The styling cream was pretty thin, but not liquidy, and didn't have much slip to go thru my daughter's hair either. The spray I used to moisturize her styles and was ok I guess. I'm not overly impressed at any of these products except for the smell. The scent is very extreme and lasts dayssss! It's fruity and smells amazing to me tho, so I like that...I also tried these on my son and wasn't all that impressed how they worked on him either. I'd give them ☆☆☆ and probably won't purchase again.

Review: carols daughter

I've been trying to find a thicker product for my daughter's hair this winter and read decent reviews about the restorative cream. First, the smell is terrible. Second, it doesn't smooth well thru her hair. Third, didn't seem to moisturize well. Overall, not a huge fan but I'll probably finish it since it was a bit pricey....the liquid pommade was better. The smell is pretty good, nothing special, and I loved the shine it added! Not too set on buying either again, but I'll for sure use the pommade up. The restorative cream left her hair white till dry, so if you see alot of white while styling don't worry too much, it will go away.

Review: as I am, born curly

I recently discovered As I am has a children's hair care line now at sally beauty, so of course my product junkie self had to check it out! Possibly the greatest decision ever lol this leave in conditioner is amazing for both my kids. The slip is on point and keeps their hair moisturized very well...the scent is awful, omg, but I've had to look past that since it works so well! I put some oil with a better smell on top of it to try drowning out the bad smell. I am going to try the rest of the kids line as soon as I run out of the massive stash I already have of products...☆☆☆☆☆ hands down tho, this is amazing!

Review: original sprout

(This review is on my sons hair) My friend gave me a couple samples from original sprout, the detangler spray and oil...LOVE! The detangler works well but the smell isn't great, it's like a bad fragrance free scent (my daughter likes it tho). The oil smells amazing and makes my son's hair super soft! I also tried the oil on my daughter's hair and it was amazing for her as well. I will be trying the curl cream next and am hoping it's as great as these 2 products I've already tried...the detangler gets ☆☆☆☆ due to the bad smell for me, but the oil gets ☆☆☆☆☆! This seems to be a great product line for all hair types! (My friend uses this on her straight hair as well)

Review: shea moisture low porosity

I recently purchased the low porosity shampoo and conditioner from shea moisture. It left my daughter's hair pretty soft and the conditioner seemed to absorb more than our regular brand. The 2 things I didn't like were the lack of slip with the conditioner and the "mintiness". I wash her hair in the tub and the lack of slip made the process longer and the mintiness started to bother her by making her cold. Which is pretty accurate because my hands were freezing detangling her hair....I would like to find the leave in conditioner to try as well since the shampoo and conditioner did seem to work well on her. For effectiveness I'll give it ☆☆☆☆, but for overall I'd have to give ☆☆☆. Not positive I'll buy again tho since it took half the bottle of conditioner to get thru her hair and it's a bit pricey.
